Flantastic Mix-Up
By edenesque@juno.com
It is known in Heaven that Christopher and Jordi are on fairly good terms, and that the child-souls of Heaven are generally a kind and decent lot. So, on a recent field trip to the Savannah, one of those souls, a eight-year-old named Jean-Pierre, decided to mix up one of his dad's specialties for the owner of all those cool animals. The boy worked really hard on one of his favorite treats: flan (aided by a helpful Mercurian of Creation IST Children).
On the day of the field trip, Jean-Pierre left his
present out on a windowsill of Christopher's House while he got ready. A
passing Elohite of the Wind snatched it and traded it in Commerce Park for a
trifle. The Mercurian of Trade he sold it to sold the flan to a harried
reliever of Lightning, who left it on a table in the Halls of Progress when he
was sent on another errand. An Ofanite spotted it and had a flash of
inspiration. Gluttons are not very bright, and a Force Catcher hidden in a
dessert could surely snare a Glutton Shedite. The Ofanite worked for weeks
until he finally had it: a dessert that could snare Forces, all on its' own!
Too bad that Windy Ofanite got in...
The long and short of it is that somehow, the flan
did eventually end up at a Tether of Animals in Africa. Shortly thereafter, the
Tether was attacked by some of Belial's thugs, and the overwhelmed Seneschal
invoked his Archangel. Only to watch Jordi get sucked into flan, of all things.
The grinning pyros grabbed the flan and bolted.
Belial was mightily pleased to have a captured
Archangel to roast, but one of his brighter Servitors suggested a different
course of action. So it was that Jordi was turned over to Vapula, in hopes that
the Genius Prince could find a way to poison Jordi's forces. Belial planned to
give half the flan to Haagenti, and the other half to Furfur, and watch two
rivals choke on one Archangel.
Which is where your PCs come in. If they're angels, they've been cleverly hidden in the vessels of garden gnomes and left out for a Thief to steal and smuggle back to Stygia. From there, they are assigned to find and rescue Jordi at all costs. If the PC's are demons, they've been hidden in garden gnome vessels to ferret out the truth and turn it to the advantage of their Prince (s). Alaemon in particular is most interested in the sudden flurry of activity in Sheol and Tartarus.
