Iron Rev Entry
By Beth McCoy
In a little-known part of the rainforest, there
exists a fruit which is as yet unknown to humanity.
It is not unknown, mind, to Jordi's angels.
When one of Jordi's Kyriotates - who knows the
secret fruit - Falls, it happily passes on the knowledge of this wondrous
rarity to... a demon of Haagenti. This demon, in turn, passes the knowledge
(and the new Shedite) on to its master, and so on up the chain to... the Demon
of Flan. Now, it so happens that Flannie (her nickname) is looking for all
kinds of new recipes to hold Haagenti's attention. She's also a Calabite.
In a fit of pique, Flannie's used the Shedite for an
ingredient, and now has only a semi-accurate map to the fruit's area.
No matter. Flannie knows people. She knows people
who know... PCs. PCs are wonderful things - so expendable. So Flannie's
arranged for these PCs to go harvest the fruit, and put it into special relic
containers to keep them fresh.
Er, Haagenti and Kobal being close, Flannie got a
Good Deal on the relic containers. The bad news is... yes, garden gnomes.
Perhaps the PCs can pose as some kind of crazy fringe green group? Might be
hard to transport the goods back - but they are relics. Perhaps
they can all just go celestial and return to their Hearts.
Problem no one knows about: the stand of trees that
the Shedite's instructions lead to... is just inside the locus of Jordi's
hidden Tether.
Other Problem no one knows about: the Tether-guards.
Result: When
the PCs finally get there, and start harvesting the fruit and placing it in the
gnomes for shipment... they're attacked by various animals with the Song of
Wings, who are trying to keep the fruit out of demonic hands. (But dropping the
(rather heavy, actually) gnomes on demonic heads works!) And the PCs can't
immediately run back to their Hearts, because they're in the Tether!
Yes, the PCs must try to get at least a few fruits
out, running frantically, while enduring the attack of...
...the Flanning Monkeys.
